Whether you fear this year or have hope it will be a year of change. "To steal a line from a great series: We wake up and need to check the same terms and conditions box. Everyday things will happen to you, some of it will be good and some will be bad, choice is less about what happens than how we deal with it!"

How you deal with it... How will you deal with it?

This is the center of where we go, what roads we choose to take, and what outcomes will be for us and all our connections, known and unknown. It is a lot, and most of us cannot begin to fathom the depth of this, we are all too busy trying to keep our nose above water. For all of that it is no less true, what we do affects us, and all that is connected to us for good or ill. It is our responsibility to gain the greatest perspective we can and to make the best choices available to us. This is a lot, and we have so much noise distracting us…

Take a deep breath

Awareness and change does not happen in a second, it does not happen overnight, it happens every day, in increments, it is a journey that will take generations. That said, we each need to take the first step and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Put your phone down, the answer is not there, go out and have coffee somewhere, go for a walk in a public park, ride a bus, get outside where people are, then sit and pay attention to your surroundings, see what is happening, and make sense of it, gain perspective.

Let what you do be informed by the world around you, not the force-fed media, memes, and infotainment, but the actual world, the others around you with their noses above the water… and many below the surface. You were trained not to think, not to ask question, to accept, to hate, to fear and to stay in your lane… it is time to learn to be human, that the lanes are not in your, or anyone’s, best interest, and the world cannot thrive by you following the rules. Going back to what was illuded to earlier, everything is connected, if the world does not thrive, you cannot thrive…

So, what will you do in 2025?
